10 Great Global Red, White, & Blue DIY Projects
Happy Independence Day!
I’m always excited to see how beautifully everyone decorates for the holiday. There are so many great projects featuring patriotic colors and on the day we celebrate our Independence it’s also a great day to celebrate our diverse country. So, here are 10 great globally inspired DIY projects featuring red, white, and blue. DIY Blue Shibori Pillows

DIY Bleached Shoes
These bleached shoes by Alisa Burke have the look of mud cloth with the added floral effect. How cute would these be with your summer apparel?! Be sure to check out Alisa’s blue set, which are my favorite.
DIY Moroccan Wedding Blanket
Lindsay of White Buffalo Styling Co. created was super imaginative creating a DIY Moroccan wedding blanket from a bath rug! I’ve seen some DIY versions of this type of blanket, but never one made from a bath rug. Be sure to view this must see tutorial.
DIY Shibori Napkins
When it comes to higher end looks, many bloggers create the look for less and sometimes the DIY version looks even better than the inspirational version. Jess of Domicile 37 created an amazing version of DIY shibori napkins inspired by Urban Outfitters to swoon over.
DIY Placemat Clutch
Lately, I’ve seen a lot of placemats that have globally inspired look especially from Target. Ashley Hacksaw of Lil Blue Boo created a great clutch with a globally inspired placemat. What a great way to get a stylish look and incorporate global vibes!
DIY African JuJu Hat
Mounting an African JuJu hat to your wall was a hot trend a few years ago. However, I’ve been seeing them come back into the spotlight recently. The creative duo of Suburban Bitches created a beautiful white feathered version perfect for mantel decor.
DIY Red and Blue Tassel Belly Basket
Marwa of Enthralling Gumption always has great DIYs that are not only easy to make, but make such a great impact. This belly basket planter is a quick tutorial that can make your basket just as festive as the rest of your Independence day decor.
DIY White Chalk Paint Aztec Art
Sometimes getting a global look can be easily achieved with a simple DIY art. I created a white Aztec painted wood art which would be perfect on any mantel or gallery wall.
DIY Stenciled Persian Rug
Stenciled projects have become a great way to get a global look without dishing out a lot of money. Rebecca of You Are Talking To Much painted an outdoor rug with stencils to create a red, white, and blue Persian Rug.
DIY Otomi Coasters
The Mexican Otomi patterns are always gorgeous colorful creations. However, you can always have some of this folkart print in monotone colors. Rocío of CasaHaus creating these super cute collection of coasters with clay and paint! You can create your own set of Otomi coasters with patriotic colors too!
