Modern Resort Style Bedroom Reveal
This post has been sponsored by AllModern, LampsPlus, Mohawk Home, and Select Surfaces. Though I have received product for this post, I maintain that all opinions shared are 100% my own.
Well, it’s been a 2 week makeover process for the bedroom. We started with the modern boho closet reveal for his side and then I shared how to style her side of the closet earlier this week! I’m excited to finally share the modern resort style bedroom with you!
If you missed my design reveal, I shared my modern resort design plans for the bedroom which included updating the laminate flooring, incorporating colorful curtains, and upgrading the lighting in the room. Here is what the room like before….keep in mind that I got too excited and missed snapping a picture of the room with the old decor, but you aren’t missing much. You can see some of the before photos in the post I shared about arranging pillows on a king bed.
The room was not arranged in a way that made the space look large before. Granted, we do have a king size bed, but there is a way to format the room so you can optimize the entire space. Now, the bedroom has the best layout and has been refreshed for the relaxing, resort style space I wanted.
The bedroom received a complete design makeover with decor from AllModern. I recovered the comforter in a herringbone duvet and added new textured throw pillows. The colors in boho throw pillows were a great source of inspiration. I pulled the terra cotta color seen in the pillow to coordinate the new blackout terra cotta colored curtains. I’ve been getting so much more sleep now with these blackout curtains…..almost too much! The only drawback is that the folding creases are a bit pronounced with such a heavy curtain, but I know they’ll come out in time. You can always steam them out if you prefer not to wait.
Though the room has a resort hotel vibe, I wanted to still make it welcoming. Woven textures definitely have that cozy, welcoming vibe. So, here come the textures! I used a woven tassel blanket at the end of the bed that whispers, come and snuggle with me. I’ve snuggled so much with this blanket already. I even had it in my favorite kitchen spot for my fall kitchen tour.
The new lamp from LampsPlus is texture gold! I adore the woven texture in this lamp and how it gives the room a casual, elegance feeling. The white string lamp also balances all the dark furniture too!
Now we can’t ignore the elephant in the room. The new laminate flooring by Select Surfaces definitely brings the room to an entirely different level. This fantastic barnwood finish laminate flooring will be shared more in detail next week, but I want to say that the warm color of the wood like finish elevates the overall appearance of the room. It takes the bedroom from builder grade bedroom to luxe hotel and who doesn’t want to stay in a luxury hotel suite?
The room is finished with a blue persian inspired rug from Mohawk Home. Believe it or not, I had to have a discussion about why a rug was needed with hubs. He loved the new flooring and didn’t want to cover it. So, I’ll share exactly what I told him. Properly sized area rugs not only bring color into a rug, but it gives the room an overall finished look. It makes the space look cozy. So, if you do not have rugs in each of your spaces, be sure to incorporate a new rug into your home and see the instant transformation.
We can’t forget about wall decor. AllModern has beautiful art, but I was fixated on creating a gallery wall around the new location of the tv. By removing the mirror from the dresser and replacing it with the tv, I created a new tv area that is much more stylish. The gallery wall adds to the resort style bedroom by creating a frame around the tv. I used a set of black frames and created a cascading gallery wall. I adore the photos it came with, but eventually I’ll replace it with out photos…one day.
Well there you have it friends! A modern resort bedroom makeover that you can recreate in your home. I highly encourage you to bring in the elements I shared so that you can feel the warm, relaxing vibes that transport me to a resort each time I enter the bedroom. Now I just need to make a spa master bedroom to complete the resort feel!
