Quick and Easy Glam Art

Need some easy diy glam art for a bare wall? Check out this quick and easy glam art tutorial that adds a bit of gold glam to any space!

What’s one of the benefits of being at home these past couple of weeks for the COVID19 isolation? Well, I get to finally write out all the tutorials that I’ve been putting off! One of the easiest art pieces I’ve created for a space has to be this quick and easy glam art for Pink’s Scandi Glam bedroom refresh. Now that I think of it, the simple Scandi art I made for Nugget’s Artsy, Industrial bedroom was pretty easy too!

If you have any old canvas paintings laying around or waiting to be donated, just wait until you see this post! I needed a little pop of glam for Pink’s bedroom refresh and found this old feather art I hadn’t used in a while. Remember this feather art behind the chair from my old living room gallery wall? Well, it got an easy diy glam art makeover in less than 5 minutes!

When painting over canvas, you may want to start with a clean slate. Using white or a shade of white interior paint (or acrylic paint if you have enough of that) to wipe the previous art away is great. It also adds a bit of texture if your layer it on without spending the time to smooth the paint. Once it’s dry, you’re ready to do this quick diy glam art!

How To Make Glam Art

Gather some gold leaf paint and a paintbrush. You’re paintbrush, in most cases, won’t be salvageable with gold leaf paint so use an old you don’t mind tossing after this project.

The entire project is suuuuuper easy. Take your paint brush and dip into the gold leaf paint. I linked the one I used in case you’re interested above. Then, splatter the gold leaf paint around the canvas. You’ll want to have neat circular splatters of paint rather than haphazard paint splotches. You’ll see why in a moment.

Allow the paint to dry for about 2 minutes or so. You don’t want the paint to completely dry, but not be wet either. For this next step, use the paint brush to drag some of the paint globs. This will create a shooting star look to your art and add much more texture. You don’t have to do all of them, but want quite a few to create the overall look.
