Modern Bohemian Dining Room Update: NYNR Refresh Challenge Week 4
Sharing the design update on our modern bohemian dining room makeover for the New Year New Room Refresh Challenge!
Friends….. One word….. FLU!
It crept in last week and took over the entire house, but it hit me the worst. The flu outbreak put a damper on getting any work done in the dining room. I didn’t move from my bed for days. I can’t remember the last time I had the flu, but this was no JOKE! I was hurting everywhere. Even my hair hurt!
We are still on the mend and it has been quite an adventure doing just the simplest of tasks around the house. I’m super excited about the latest things that have arrived for the dining room. I’m just hoping that we are able to have the room completed on time. It’s going to be one race to the end for sure!

A couple of things needed a little switcheroo. I opened the Milton & King wallpaper boxes BEAUTIFUL, I had a sinking feeling that I was making the room feel too neutral. We needed more color! Soooooo, I switched to another rug.
I know… I know…
The rug I shared on Instagram stories weeks ago is gorgeous and it will find another spot ( I already have an idea where!), but the rug didn’t coordinate too good with the wallpaper so I had to switch up the vision for the space a little.
The teal dining chairs are velvet and would look great for a pop of color. Plus, I found beautiful Asian inspired pillows called Dynasty on Loom Decor‘s website which can be customized for the room. Loom Decor has the wonderful ability to customize pillows and drapes with your own piping, size, and even trim. I haven’t decided whether to get the velvet chairs, keep all the chairs the same, or use the gray sofa I used to have in the living room.
After playing around with the look, it may look good in the dining room. I’ll have to see if the height of the sofa makes the dining room look chic and not eeek first. What say you? Velvet chairs, all the chairs the same, or the gray sofa?
Ultimately, I’m pretty sure the flooring won’t be done before the the reveal so you will see the room all done minus the new LVP floors that I had prepped for. I’m hoping the shipment arrives in time, but we will see. 🙁
Stay tuned…..
