Colorful Boho Winter Decor
Decorating for the holidays is something that I definitely enjoy doing. I can spend hours making cute vignettes, hanging wreaths, and creating easy holiday projects! So, creating a space that was simply styled but still colorful was a challenge I wanted to give myself. I used my Holiday Planner (<- Click to see how you can grab your free copy!) to create a plan and then I dove right into decorating! I shared my Simple Serape Christmas Tree yesterday and created some ornaments that I’ll share tomorrow!
Instead of doing a major overhaul of decor from fall, I rearranged some of the decor pieces around the kitchen and pulled some of the dinnerware out from the cabinets. The open shelving is pretty empty compared to what I normally have, but color wasn’t missing at all. I used colorful glassware to add pops of color to the shelves and added height using stacks of plates.
My glass collection collection received a little Christmas update with these beautiful brassy botanical ornaments from Target. I love adding little touches of gold here and there during the winter. Glasses filled with gold little bells adds a little whimsy to any shelf or mantel.
Christmas books are on display for the kids to access easily. We love reading books on the window seat, so having the books handy in the kitchen was a must this year.
Have a white wall or white tiled backsplash? Add color by hanging ornaments tied with velvet ribbon. Not only do you get the pop of color, but also the soft texture from the ribbon.
The kitchen island just needed a little color. Small petite floral arrangements were recycled from my Thanksgiving tablescape. I added glass containers of candlesticks that are ready to go for a warm, cozy night in.
I hope you enjoyed my tour today! Be sure to head over to the next stop of the tour, Kathy of Up To Date Interiors home! Don’t forget to sign up for my No-Stress Holiday planning Free email series packed with free holiday planning printables. More information found here.
