Spiked Caribbean Caffe Mocha

It’s been a long time since I’ve shared a recipe here on the blog and I’m happy to start recipes back up on day 8 of the Very Global Christmas series. Today, I’ll be sharing a recipe for a spiked Caribbean caffe mocha made with Caribbean chocolate from the Dominican Republic.

Winter cocktail of Spiked Caribbean Caffe Mocha recipe

It’s getting cold outside and that means it’s time to whip out the hot chocolate, but that doesn’t mean it has to be just a hot chocolate. By combining some tasty coffee and a little bit of spices, you can create a yummy spiked Caribbean caffe mocha instead.

How to make spiked Caffe Mocha

(1) Start by warming 1 cup of creamer or half and half in a sauce pot. Add 2 dashes of cinnamon and let the creamer come to a simmer over medium heat.

(2) Grate some fresh Caribbean chocolate into the simmering creamer and mix until the chocolate is fully dissolved. Add any sugar or sweetener to taste.

(3) Take the pot off the heat and let cool just a little. Add 4-5 teaspoons of Brandy to your creamer mixture.

(4) Pour 1/2 cup of hot coffee into a glass and combine with creamer mix. Top with grated chocolate and cinnamon. Sip and enjoy!
