Global Style Spring Home Tour
I saw my first ant in the house yesterday. You know what that means. It’s now officially spring and those little rascals never come alone. Now that spring weather is finally upon us, I can finally continue decorating the house for spring. This week, I’ve joined a talented group of home decor bloggers to share our spring home tours for the Hello Spring Home Tour hosted by Carrie of Lovely Etc. Today’s spring home tour is my living room and I invite you to stay tuned for the other rooms to be shared this coming week. Visit the links at the end of the post for the other spring home tours shared throughout the week.
This year, I emphasized a more botanical feel in our home. I increased the number of fresh flowers and plants in our home, which as of yet none have died off…knock on wood. The family room received a botanical refresh a couple of weeks ago and has been my favorite room since then. You can see more of that room here.
I continued the botanical vibes into the living room with plants and fresh florals for spring. This space can get a bit crowded looking, especially with the green curtains giving such a huge amount of color into the space. So, I limited the amount of textile patterns and competing colors.
The infamous Frida pillow made a triumphant return and adds the right amount of color to my gray sofa. I kept the pillow accessories simple and paired Frida with the Kravet pillow I used for the one room challenge two years ago. Back then, the leather sofa I had in the living room really commanded attention in this space, so this pillow combination wasn’t given the chance to draw your attention. Not anymore! I also repurposed a moses basket into a magazine holder. A big tassel is just what this moses basket needs for a bit of boho style.
My DIY dollar store compote bowl has the right height for a coffee table floral arrangement. It’s low enough to keep your conversations going while seated and high enough to make a statement on the coffee table. The rest of the table was minimally styled with a gold leaf tray, candles, and two of my favorite coffee table books. Side note, Justina of The Jungalow is writing another book and I can’t wait to see it.
I turned a basket into a side table again since the garden stool I normally have in the living room is now in the family room. It’s the perfect companion for the green armchair and my plant nook. The basket houses our cozy blankets should the weather switch up on us again.

I love all the touches you added for spring! There’s just something beautiful and fresh (no pun intended) about adding botanicals — it really brightens up a space, especially as the weather gets warmer. Also, I love how you turned that woven basket into a side table. So smart! Your home is beautiful, Stephanie.
