Wicked Inspired Christmas Tree and Pink with Gold Christmas Ideas
I’m BACK! It’s been almost one year later since my last post. Though I have experienced a very demanding year going back to work outside the home, I could not let Christmas pass without sharing my Christmas tree with you. This year’s tree was inspired by the popular movie, Wicked!
Did you see the movie? I was blown away by how incredibly well done the movie was especially being a lover of the broadway play. Chi-Chi (who is now 12!) was also enthralled by the movie and recently had a Wicked themed birthday hangout with her friends. Though I forgot to snap those pictures, I did manage to put up my tree this past weekend and snap some pictures to share my Wicked Inspired Christmas tree.
I was foolish to think I would be able to keep up creating content along with the demanding work of creating a nursing program, but I’m happy to report that 2025 will be a year of ultimate creativity! I will be back to creating home and lifestyle content regularly and sharing quick DIY ideas to feed your creative soul. Yes, I’m still working outside the home. However, I will have more flexibility in the new year and happy to nurture my creative side.
More to come about that, but in the meantime let’s chat about this whimsical Glinda inspired Christmas tree!
The Christmas decor had to be very easy to complete as I’m incredibly late decorating this year. I also didn’t have time to shop for new items, so many of the items I used may look familiar from Christmases past.
Glinda Inspired Christmas Tree
The Christmas tree was first decorated with gorgeous velvet ribbon I ordered off Amazon last year, but never used. Being that pink is Glinda’s signature color, I added pink baubles to the tree along with iridescent ones to mimic her transport bubbles.
The gold sprayed foliage adds to the whimsy of the tree along with the bejeweled butterflies placed throughout the tree.
Speaking of buying things last Christmas that weren’t used, I also placed a bunch of ornate gold glittered ornaments….say that 4 times fast!… which still had the tags on them.
I lied.. I did purchase something this year. The gift wrap!
I found these perfectly matching gift wrap papers at Target last week and just had to use them for the tree. I found the paper a little stiff to wrap some of the gifts, but the kids will have one fun time tearing into these gifts this year.
Whimsical Christmas Decor
Throughout the living room, I added a few table top Christmas trees to add to the whimsy of the space. The pearly trees were used in Chi-Chi’s room last year, while the mossy trees were used as centerpiece decor in the last year’s Christmas dining room decor.
A couple small ornaments added to the knitted stockings adds a pinch of pink to the mantel decor.
The tabletop Christmas tree has all the pretty ribbons I used for the tree skirt last year. Though we started with the ribbon trend last Christmas, I must say that the trend is continuing this year and for good reason! It’s so cute!
The staircase received a little attention this year unlike Christmases past. I used some garland I already had and added extra greenery, pink and gold ornaments, and a cute pink ribbon to complete the whimsical Glinda look.
Though this year’s Christmas decor is much more subdued compared to my previous Christmases, I do find that these simple pink and gold Christmas touches make me feel so cheery. After the very demanding work year I have had, I appreciate having the opportunity to decorate a bit and slowing life down a little to enjoy time with family and friends.
Thank you for checking in on me this past year when you didn’t hear from me and for continuing to be part of Casa Watkins. Wishing you a very happy holiday season and wonderful New Year.
