Tropical Bohemian Winter Entryway
Want more bohemian Christmas decor inspiration? Check out my tropical bohemian winter entryway full of color and boho style!
Our Christmas decorating is finally done! We couldn’t do the entire house as we have in years past, but I must say that our home is pretty festive with just the areas completed. I shared our living room and playroom over the last couple weeks. Since our kitchen, dining, and living room are in shambles, I thought of making the entire left side of the house bearable. The only area remaining in our Christmas refresh was the garage entry.
I’m not sure why I didn’t do this area first. It’s the first area we see when we come downstairs in the morning and the area we enter when we arrive home. You would think we would want this area festive before all the others. With some little Christmas and winter touches, I gave our entryway a colorful Christmas refresh that just so happens to coordinate with our tropical bohemian Christmas tree.
Today I’m joining in the annual Winter Eclectic Home Tour hop hosted by Jess of Domicile 37. If you are popping over from At Home with Ashley, welcome! Ashley has such a beautiful style and I find her style of home decor so chic and stylish. The tour started Monday, so if you haven’t visited the other homes shared, be sure to visit the hop using the links at the end of this post.
Tropical Bohemian Winter Entryway
Though I’ve decorated our entryway for winter and Christmas before, I had never placed garland on our stair banisters. It wasn’t because I didn’t like the look. It was actually the kids. I had bows on the banister one year and they tried to pull them off the entire month of December. Granted, the kids were learning to walk up the stairs and the bows were just in their way. Now that they are 6 and 7, I have more freedom to decorate places I hadn’t before.
The banisters were decorated with faux evergreen that is on MAJOR sale right now at Micheal’s. I purchased mine at 50% off, but they could be more discounted now.
A few flowers and satin ribbon swatches were placed to tie in the look of our Christmas tree. PLUS, I placed several of the diy global bohemian wood ornaments I shared yesterday. I wasn’t ready for just how festive this would make our entryway look. I may be hooked on decorating the banisters each season now!
Our garage shelf was decorated very simply since the rest of the house decor is a pop of color in your face. I had to tone it down somewhere. The wooden nesting houses are from the Hearth and Hand line at Target. I’m not sure if I’ll have time to makeover these little houses like I wanted to this month. I’ll be taking a short break to enjoy the holidays after this week, but I’ll be back later this month to share New Year’s Eve ideas. So, I may share the makeover on these nesting houses then.
Does the wooden horse look familiar? If you followed my annual A Very Global Christmas series with my pal Kathy of Up To Date Interiors, then you would have seen this DIY Dala horse idea. Okay, so it’s suppose to be a gift, but I fell in love with it and couldn’t give it away. I did find more of the wooden horses so I’ll be making new ones to give as Christmas gifts…..that is if I don’t keep those too. :/
Overall, I’m just so happy with how the house turned out this Christmas. It’s been such a roller coaster ride dealing with all the renovations and then the kids’ back to back birthday parties. I’m looking forward to enjoying these spaces with my family and I hope you have found decorating inspiration for your own home!

Very pretty Stephanie!
So cute Steph! Love the garland with embellishments and the shelf looks great with your dala horse. Can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve for New Year’s! xoxo
Obsessed with your DIY wooden horse. I totally would have kept if for myself too. Beautiful tour, Steph!
Stephanie, your entryway is so sweet! Love the bohemian touches you’ve shared! And I can relate about decorating the banister my 3 year old keeps trying to remove my twinkle lights from the garland, smh.
Looks great! I love the colors you used.
I love this little area and how homey it looks! I am so excited about what is going on in your home and the changes to come. Love you girl!
The orange with the greenery is beautiful! I love how it makes it pop in such a non traditional way. Your decorating is always so inspiring
