Pink Boho Girls Room Makeover Plans

Happy New Year! It’s the first post of the New Year and I’m kicking it off with the annual New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge! I can not believe we are in year 7 of this challenge! There is a wonderful group of bloggers joining me this year with incredible ideas to refresh a space for the New Year. This year I’ll be refreshing Chi-Chi’s room! She’s been waiting so patiently for this and I’m so happy to be tackling this space for her this year. Here is how her room looks now!

To sum up the challenge, each Tuesday during the month of January we will all share progress on our selected rooms. You will see DIY ideas, decorating tips, etc. shared each Tuesday of the challenge. Then, on the last Tuesday of the month, we will all REVEAL our ROOM!

I’ve done so many room refreshes over the years from my family room (cringe….which was the very first space I tackled and it looks sooooo much different now than it did then) to the big bedroom swaperoo where when I tackled my son’s artsy industrial bedroom and my daughter’s scandi boho bedroom and the wallpapered laundry room I completed last year. In between, I’ve done the dining room, our formal living room….when we still had one..as well as a craft room.

I recently tackled Chi-Chi’s closet and will reveal that tomorrow for you in case you haven’t seen it on my Instagram account. She ADORES her new closet and I’m continuing the new theme into the rest of the space. Here is how her room looks now.

My plan is to keep her pink and purple color theme as much as possible since she is still a hardcore fan of those two colors. However, I want to bring in a brighter more whimsical feeling to her bedroom. Here is what I have planned so far and a peek of her new closet.

I’ll be swapping out her rug, wallpaper, and curtains to refresh the space. I’m thinking of creating a canopy bed of sorts for her but not sure yet about that. I want to bring in the wallpaper from Spoonflower first to see how I feel about the space then. Stay tuned for more details on this room and follow the transformation every Tuesday this month!
