Modern Global Spring Decorating Ideas
Spring is in the air and our family room was given a refresh to celebrate. I’m joining the fabulous ladies of the It’s A Colorful Life Party to share some spring decorating ideas. The tours kicked off Tuesday with our cohosts Jennifer of Dimples and Tangles and Jewel of Jeweled Interiors sharing their amazing homes. Be sure to check out all the colorful homes being shared today at the end of my tour! Hello to those coming from Our Fifth House! Isn’t Carmel’s porch just beautiful!
Over here at Casa Watkins, it hasn’t been too long since we finished the renovated kitchen and new dining room. But I’m so ready to do some spring refreshes especially in the family room. You’d think I was done with all sorts of home changes given the months of renovation chaos, but here we go refreshing another space.
The family room isn’t fully done with the makeover, but changing some things around made this room feel like a brand new space that blends much better with the rest of the first floor. I swapped the blue rug for a colorful orange and green. I also swapped the pillows for teal to blend with the new rug. I’m looking to replace the chaise sofa for two chairs in the near future.
I picked up some plants this week to celebrate the change of the season…..aaaaaand to replace the poor ones that didn’t make it through the renovation dust. Poor plant babies. 🙁
Plants are such a great way to welcome spring. I decked the family room with plants for spring a few years ago in a post about bringing the outdoors inside. This year, I mixed in some colored glass with plants to create some colorful pops for spring. Plants and colored glass still continue to be my favorite two of five staple global boho decor pieces I use each season.
Of course we can’t forget about florals! These branches aren’t blooming just yet but adding some cute folk art Easter eggs and diy folk art birds makes these bare branches look springy. If these look familiar, that’s because I used them for the Easter tree in the kitchen.
Speaking of kitchen, I keps the decor pretty simple here for early spring. I’ll be updating my shelves soon though! Do you spot the plants and colored glasses on the shelves?
The glass continues into the dining room with a simple collection of colored glassware. These colors just pop against the wallpaper and reclaimed wood table.
So friends, do you think you’ll add some colored glass and plants to your home this spring? What other ways do you add pops of color to your decor? Head on over to Pencil Shavings Studio where Rachel is sharing more colorful spring inspiration.
