This room was so fun to create. From the bold Gadara wallpaper by Milton & King to the powerful mecca orange curtain panels and colorful chevron rug sponsored by Home Dynamix, I couldn’t be happier to walk into this new space. Actually, I woke up early the morning after completing the room just to sit in it before the kids woke up!
Let me remind you of how the room looked before. Keep in mind that this room was the living room at the front of our home.
and here is the room now!
Now, when guests come on over, we have a statement room immediately upon entering. I see us using this space much MUCH more now. The Milton & King Gadara wallpaper takes centerstage. The bold charcoal and white wallpaper pattern makes a neutral background for the colors accents in this room. Well, as neutral as a maximalist styler would do. I incorporated color into the room starting from the floor up. Take a look at all these colors in the multicolored chevron rug by Home Dynamix!
I have always loved the natural lighting that pours into this room and this beautiful Boca chandelier by Hudson Valley Lighting adds to the splendor! The aged brass chandelier gives the space just the right amount of glam while still being a fun, almost artistic statement piece in the room. Just take a look at those bubble details in the lights!
The small details are what make this room a statement room. I gave the new velvet chairs a little boho makeover using these blush cowrie tassels from Boho Luxe Home. Not only are these tassels on point with bohemian style, but they give the chairs a little more color and pizazz!
Even a wall full of pattern didn’t stop me from bringing in more art. I framed some bold Bisnager stripe fabric from Boho Luxe Home (which I will be incorporating into the new kitchen too!) to give the walls color. The patterns and pops of color in the fabric are just too good not to frame. This fabric served as inspiration for the color scheme of the room. Can you see the orange tones from the curtains and teal from the chairs in this print?
Speaking of framing, the satin black frames with gold by Art to Frames balance out the bohemian vibes of the fabric to create a understated sophistication to the room. I had to incorporate some of those vibes for the hubs who is all about luxe and sophistication. I loved the matte black frames against the charcoal and white of the wallpaper. The fact that you can create the frame you want using Art to Frames custom frame options is amazing. I also framed another art piece for the entryway using Art to Frames gold foil frame. How wonderful does that gold look with the teal walls?!!!
Overall, this space is the new Casa Watkins for sure.
Modern bohemian with global fusion and a hint of glam!
