Mini Christmas Tree Advent Calendar
Countdown to Christmas in a fun, family friendly way! Create this mini Christmas tree advent calendar in minutes.
Ever since I put up our tropical bohemian Christmas tree, the kids have been asking when Christmas is…..ev..er..y..day. Advent calendars are a great visual reminder and festive fun for kids and adults. Today, Kathy of Up To Date Interiors and I will be sharing advent calendar ideas you can create this season for day 5 of A Very Global Christmas.
Advent calendars are so fun regardless of your age. I can remember receiving a German chocolate advent calendar box each year as a kid. It was fun to push my finger on the little window for the day and pull back the paper to reveal the sweet chocolaty treat on the inside. I admit I was inpatient when it came to surprises and ate several days instead of just one.
Well, my mini Christmas tree advent calendar is great for small spaces and kiddos. My kids are going to love counting down to Christmas with these miniature ornaments as the advent calendar dates. Here is how to make your own!
Christmas Tree Advent Calendar
Start by cleaning each of the mini ornaments with a moist paper towel. I found this mini box of ornaments at Micheal’s craft store a while ago, but I do see them seasonally at other craft stores like Joann Fabrics and even Target.
Use a white paint pen to paint each ornament with a number from 1-25 and allow them to dry. The kids can do this part if you’d like. If they are toddler age, have them paint the ornaments and then add a sticker of the number on top. They’ll not only feel like they participated in the creation of the advent tree, but it’s still functionable with the numbered ornaments.
Once the paint is dry, simply place the mini ornaments in a bowl next to the mini tree or in a safe space. The kids can then place the coordinating labeled ornament on the mini Christmas tree as each day passes. Once the bowl is empty, the kids will know it’s finally Christmas!
