How To Make a Wood Bead Garland with Flowers
Have you been enjoying this year’s Very Global Easter series? There has been 5 of the 7 days so far and I’ve been enjoying sharing these spring and Easter ideas with you. It’s day 6 and today’s theme is spring garlands! I’m excited to share how to make a wood bead garland with flowers just in time for spring.
Kathy of Up To Date Interiors and I have shared so many fun themes so far. Be sure to catch up on all the days shared so far at the end of this post. Plus, Kathy will be sharing her DIY boho Easter garland.
Bead Garland with Flowers
Last Spring, I created a pretty bead garland with yarn tassels. Garlands are a quick and easy way to add style to an item or space. You can toss a garland across a mantel, bowl, jar, or even use it to add a little pizazz to a door knob. This spring, I wanted to create a garland that had a bit of spring bohemian flair. The beads and florals create such a great boho vibe perfectly combined for spring.
How to make a Bead Garland
- Thread a needle with fine yarn.
- Thread yarn through 4 or more beads depending on the overall length desired for the garland. I opted to reduce the beads by one after each set of flowers, but you can choose a pattern that works for you.
- Be sure to thread the flowers in the same direction. I placed them upside down and hid the stem inside the hole at the top of the bead.
- Continue adding beads and flowers until you have the length desired. Then, thread the yarn through the top of a tassel and back into the last flower or bead to tie a knot. This will secure the garland from the bottom.
- Cut of any excess yarn and hid the knot inside a bead. Snip off the excess thread at the top of the garland and secure with a knot.
This garland was super easy to make and adds a pretty boho vibe to my door knob. It also looked great as a colorful accent for the stair railing. Where would you place this wooden bead garland with flowers?
