DIY Sea Glass Advent Candles

Creating advent calendars is a tradition we have made during the Very Global Christmas series. My series partner Kathy, of Up To Date Interiors, and I have come up with so many creative ways to countdown to Christmas. This year, the sea glass Christmas theme has extended to advent calendars! These very easy DIY sea glass advent candles make a beautiful centerpiece for your table, mantel, shelf, or even an office! I adore how all these great Christmas crafts are transitioning my little boho office into a Christmas dream. Here is how you can make this DIY Sea Glass advent wreath on your own!

DIY Sea Glass Advent Candles

I have made candle wreaths in jars in the past with very little issue. In fact, my Scandi advent wreath with moss was a cute addition to our table several years ago. This year’s modern Mediterranean Christmas theme with sea glass has been so fun to infuse into crafts and these DIY sea glass advent candles turned out more beautiful than I had hoped.

To create your sea glass advent calendar, you’ll need the following materials. Keep in mind that I ordered my sea glass in bulk so that I had enough to create all the projects I wanted to, but you can buy some from your local craft store.

Materials needed:
- Colorful sea glass (I ordered this one, but you can pick up at craft store for much cheaper)
- large glass jars (pick up from the craft store or dollar stores!)
- glue gun
- candles

How to Make Sea Glass Advent Wreath

Start by applying some hot glue onto one of the corners of your glass jar. Quickly add the candle to secure the candle to the jar.
Repeat step one until all 4 candles have been glued into the glass jar.
You may have to repeat the step if one candle has dislodged. However, the sea glass will help balance out the candles if it is a little wobbly.
Gently add the sea glass around each candle and middle of the jar. Continue to fill until the jar is about 1/4 full of glass.
Check the security of each candle and be sure they are not wobbly. Then, display your sea glass advent wreath and enjoy!

This colorful sea glass advent wreath will surely have us excited for the Advent season. I adore how all the sea glass colors look through the glass jar and the white candle sticks almost have a sea shell coloring to it.

DIY Sea Glass Advent Wreath

I added a final touch by hanging one of my sea glass Christmas tree ornaments on the jar. I think it gives it the perfect coloring on the top to balance the sea glass collecting at the bottom of the jar. I may end up making more of these beautiful sea glass advent candles for my dining room table!
