5 Things To Do Now For Fall
These 5 things to do now for fall will help you welcome fall without saying bye to summer!
I truly can’t believe how fast the summer went by. It’s the last day of July and I’m already on the hunt for fall decor. Hard to believe I’m prepping for fall with the 95 degree weather outside. I can’t wait for the fall season to officially start and you don’t have to either. Transitioning your decor from summer to fall gives you the best of both worlds. You can still have touches of summer fun mixed with the warmer tones of the fall. Here are 5 things to do now for fall without saying bye to summer.
Take Out The Cozy Blankets
Even though I decorate with blankets all year long, the fall months are the best times for the super duper cozy blankets. We all bundle up on the family room sofa to watch movies those brisk fall evenings. Placing them in a basket now is perfectly okay and a great way to welcome fall. I decorated with Mexican serape blankets in a basket last year. See How To Decorate With Serape For Fall.
Paint Pumpkins
You would think that the craft stores would still be selling summer decor and supplies. However, most of the fall items are on sale! I just purchased a few pumpkins last week for 40% off at Joann Fabrics. It doesn’t really matter what color they are since you can always give them a splash of paint like I did these DIY painted pumpkins with milk paint.
Add Outdoor Clippings
Maple leaves run rampage in our yard. I feel bad pulling them up, but they tend to grow right next to the driveway. I can’t have a tree sprouting there! I give these outdoor clippings a purpose by using them around the house during the fall season. Maple leaves and branches give such a fall vibe and look great on an early fall mantel!
Create A Vignette
Vignettes are always a great way to transition between seasons. A little bit of seasonal decor mixed in with your usual decor pieces helps set the tone for the new time of year. Style a vignette in your dining room or coffee table for a touch of fall decor. You can easily swap some items for more traditional fall decor items as the season continues. Here are 5 tips to create a dining room vignette to get you started!
Fall Decor Purge
Sometimes you have great decor pieces that you’ll want to keep no matter how old it is. Other times, you know very well that it’s time to let the decor go. It’s time to either donate or trash those fall decor pieces friends. They are probably consuming your storage space. I don’t know about you, but my storage spaces are limited. Storage space is a high commodity, so I always rummage through all the fall decor in the beginning of the season to toss out or donate any unwanted pieces.
I always keep my feathers around for fall. They always look so darn cute in the brass candlesticks. See more of my coffee station for fall.
If you’re not feeling autumn just yet, don’t fret! There’s no need to put away all the summer decor and activities just yet. You can still enjoy the sandy beaches and prep your home for the fall. These tips will still allow you to enjoy the last days of summer and all it’s splendor. You’ll just be good to go for the next season with these 5 things to do for fall now. Happy decorating!
