DIY Global Style Pillow in 1 Minute
I have received product for this post. All favorable thoughts and opinions about the beautiful Sari ribbon are 100% mine.
The living room is undergoing some quick changes for the summer. That is what happens with idle hands. You decide one afternoon to rearrange everything in a room…without everything you need or a plan. So, I’ve been adding the decor elements piece by piece. My latest adds to the room are the pillows. I have a few DIY global style pillows I made using beautiful Sari ribbon from Woman Shops World on Etsy. These Indian ribbons are spectacular and the stitching is done so intricately. Unfortunately for me, I do not sew. I never learned to use the sewing machine and am the only one in my family that doesn’t sew. I’ve wanted to learn for some while, but haven’t found the time. Most of the DIY’s that involve some sort of sewing is transformed into a no-sew version for me. This DIY global style pillow is no different. This is the quickest global style pillow EVER and it doesn’t involve any sewing at all.
DIY Global Style Pillow
Many of the global style pillows incorporate some sort of handcrafted global textile. Mud cloth pillows, kilim pillows, and even authentic shibori pillows all involve an artisan created textile. These authentic pillows can be upwards of $75.00…per pillow! Using authentic handmade ribbon from Woman Shops World to create your own DIY global style pillow can save you tons of money. This 1 minute version of a global style pillow can also save you time!
To make your own DIY global style pillow in 1 minute, purchase your favorite Sari ribbon from Woman Shops World. Each of the ribbons are cut to a yard, so be sure to order more if you decide to make multiple pillows. Get a discount of 10% when purchasing at least $100 worth of product using discount code CWL10 upon checkout. I ordered a few ribbons and will be sharing my second DIY global style pillow idea tomorrow! Here is a peak of the ribbons I got to play with!
For this 1 minute version, simply wrap the Sari ribbon around a lumbar pillow (mine is from Pier 1) to cinch the middle. Be sure to wrap tightly so that the bow shape is maintained. Tuck the excess ribbon under the previous ribbon loop on the backside of the pillow. That’s it! Super easy, right!
*Tip: If you can’t get the right look simply wrapping the ribbon around, use a thick rubber band to cinch the pillow first. Then wrap the ribbon above the rubber band.
Pair your new pillow with other colorful global style pillows for a vibrant summer look. Create a collection of these minute global style pillows on your sofa or bed by coordinating different ribbons. Be sure to stop by tomorrow to view my second version of a DIY global style pillow, which uses multiple ribbons!
