I’m not sure if it was just luck or if my children are used to seeing decor on the coffee table. I have never had an issue with the kids touching or moving items from the table. So, when it comes to decorating the coffee table, I like to use what I’m loving the most without fear of breakage. This spring, I’m loving foliage over flowers. It’s pretty clear that I’m feeling plants in my recent spring home tour and family room spring refresh. Today, I’m sharing how to style a coffee table for spring using plants and trays.
You may remember this tray vignette from my family room refresh. I loved using air plants in votive containers for that look. Not only do you get a trendy air plant look, but also a reminder to care for those air plants. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve forgotten to give my air plants some H2O therapy. I used the same styling tips I shared in my tray styling post to create this look as well as another spring tray look.
The plants and foliage were increased a tad for the second coffee table tray look. I used the same great wooden tray from the Better Homes and Garden line at Walmart and added some height with different elements. Instead of loading up on candles like the first look, I used a petite bouquet of spring blooms and a couple brass accents.
Mason jars are one of the most versatile containers I’ve come across. These little jars are of course used for food storage, but I’m loving them even more as votive candle holders and containers for my foliage snips. I even have a separate Pinterest board for mason jar ideas! These jars are a definite keeper if you spot them thrifting or at the store.
