Today, I’m joining Jenna of Rain on a Tin Roof and a slew of great bloggers for a super cool hop all about ways to decorate your walls without shiplap! Have you noticed all the shiplap wall treatments in magazines, Pinterest, and other social media? There is big push for shiplap! I’m not going to lie. Sometimes it really does work in a home..when used appropriately. Looking for great alternatives to shiplap? Then you’ve come to the right place! Jenna kicked off the tour on Monday and you can see this hop from the start by visiting her blog here. If you’re coming from Polished Habitat, welcome! Isn’t Melissa’s wall AMAZING! Totally swooning over it. Today, I’m sharing 3 ways to paint your walls in a day.
Wall treatments are particularly a favorite of mine, but with the suspicion that we were moving, I had avoided going too out of the box with my wall treatments. Well, I just received word that we will be in our home for a few more years so I’m excited to take more risks with my walls. I hope you continue to visit my casa and see those develop.
3 Ways To Paint Your Walls In A Day
When it comes to decorating on the weekend, you really need to have projects that can be completed in a day or less. These 3 walls projects can amp up a room and provide pizazz to a space. When you enter my home, you are immediately greeted by my stenciled entryway wall. I’ve seen plenty of stenciled wall tutorials and they are all so simple to complete. You can instantly transform your wall with a great stencil. Don’t stop there! Use other stencils or embellishments to personalize your wall. These blue birds were not part of my stencil kit, but I decided to add 5 little birdies for each of the 5 members of my family.
I’ll admit that painting stripes is a tedious process. It’s time consuming to tape off a wall and even more if you have multiple colors. However, the effects are so beautiful afterward that the hours it takes to create these walls are nothing compared to the years of joy from them. I had help with the walls in my kids’ rooms. My daughter, Pink, has a huge fascination with the Victoria Secret Pink line and I created a bedroom based upon that concept. Her room refresh is still a working progress, but here is a peak of her wall! Make a room pop by simply adding vertical stripes a few shades lighter or darker than your base room color. This feature wall is just the start of her bedroom.
Horizontal stripes can be just as powerful in a room. My son’s global traveler themed room just recently received a quick makeover last week. The horizontal stripes in this room breaks up the tan wall for a fun play of color. The wall treatment can be easily integrated into future room changes as he continues to grow older.
The ideas continue tomorrow so be sure to visit each of these great blogs for more creative wall treatment ideas!
