And with that we are in October! This year was pretty hectic all around, but the calmness and serenity of fall is upon us friends. I have been gradually incorporating more Dia de los Muertos projects around my home as a way of honoring our lost loved ones as well as discussing family heritage with the kids. As an Hispanic, family appreciation and cultural heritage are very important to me and is held as an essential value. Family is important now more than ever! So, I’m elated to be partnering with Walmart today to show you small Dia de los Muertos altar inspiration for your home!

The Dia de los Muertos ofrenda or altar can be styled with boho touches easily with Walmart Home products. I ordered my ofrenda items online and had them sent to our home! Walmart’s broad assortment, everyday low prices, and convenient delivery/pick up options (in-store, PUT, 2 Day Shipping, NextDay delivery) allow us busy families to focus more on Dia de los Muertos and other cultural traditions. Though there are several elements you can incorporate into your Dia de los Muertos altar, here are easy ideas you can do to create your own small ofrenda table.

Dia de los Muertos Altar Items

One of the essential ofrenda table items are the photos of family members. Honor your passed family members by using a mix collection of frames! Use frames that would fit their personality. Use black frames with or without the matboard for those sophisticated family members like my Abuela Mama. I added flowers to a weathered clip frame for my fun Abuelo Papa.

Flowers can be cut and placed into beautiful boho pink goblets which are also great for offering water to the spirits visiting on dia de los muertos. Offerings also include fruit placed in floral bowls. Your altar can be pretty and traditional using colorful bowls and plates.

We can’t forget about the calaveras or the sugar skulls. I’m not too handy making these by hand, so I opted for a couple of these cute Dia de los Muertos sugar skull sets. Place them around your altar as a way to demonstrate those who have passed and are welcomed to your ofrenda table.

Finish your table with some plants in pretty planters and pillar candles. Mix in some real and faux plants to create an ofrenda table that is sure to last to the big day in November! I adore this faux aloe plant! It adds height to may altar and I don’t need to keep an eye on it to water!
