Simple Wallpapered Dresser Makeover
Sometimes you just need a little oomph to a piece of furniture. This simple wallpapered dresser makeover is just the ticket!
I’ve finally finished wallpapering the ceiling of my basement office (stay tuned for that tutorial!) and that left me with a bit of leftover wallpaper. Instead of storing it away, I used it to give an Ikea malm dresser my sister gave me a simple wallpapered dresser makeover.
One Room Challenge Recap:
I’m aware this isn’t a huge wow factor makeover, but it’s exactly what’s needed in a room that is already beaming with energy and color. The simplest makeover can sometimes be exactly what is needed.
Wallpaper Covered Dresser
So, there are a couple of ways to wallpaper a piece of furniture. You can use removable peel and stick wallpaper or traditional wallpaper with paste. I had the latter and so used that to add some color to the plain dresser.
How To Wallpaper A Dresser
Start by measuring the area you’d like to cover and cut your wallpaper to size. I wanted to wrap the paper around the top and bottom of the drawer spacers, so I creased the seam where the wallpaper would fold before applying the paste.
Apply the paste to the paper and press onto the dresser. I used a little wallpaper sensitive Frog Tape to hold the paper in place on the inside part of the drawer spacer. Remove any tape before the wallpaper dries completely, otherwise you’re going to have the tape glued on as well. 🙂
Voila! All done! Super simple way to update your plain dresser and done in less than 15 minutes.
