Quick and Easy Purse Makeover

I’m saying bye-bye officially to the big diaper bag and hello to my cute DIY pom pom Mexican MEDIUM sized bag. Pom poms are definitely taking over my life friends. My sudden fascination for these adorable and festive embellishments have extended into fashion. I recently helped my sister downsize her wardrobe and came across a beautiful Mexican purse. The bright, bold colors are completely my style and I loved the floral pattern. She was going to TOSS IT OUT!

I snagged the purse along with a salad spinner and some frayed green napkins. I definitely would have taken more things, but my hubs would totally give me the side eye if I brought in a big box of things into the house. My new-to-me Mexican purse underwent a quick and easy purse makeover with pom pom fringe. The best part, it only cost me $1.00!
I’m loving my new freedom from big diaper bags. I remember feeling so anxious that I wouldn’t have everything I needed in my diaper bag. I’d pack it the night before any trips, check it right before I would walk out the door, and even had multiple sets of almost everything in the bag including teething tablets and diaper cream. Now, it’s a completely different experience and I LOVE it. A couple of snacks, the kids’ water bottles, a pair of potty training underwear with pants and I’m ready to go out the door. All of these goodies fit right in my festive DIY pom pom purse.
What You Need: (affiliate links used for shopping convenience. Should you make a purchase, I may receive a small commision of the sale)
- Pom Pom fringe (I found mine at the dollar section at Target)
- Dap Rapid Fuse glue
- Purse/Pocketbook/Handbag/etc whatever you’d like to call your bag
Add your fringe and any additional embellishments to your purse using the Dap Rapid Fuse. You could use any other bonding agent, but Dap Rapid Fuse works super fast and is effective on so many different surfaces. Glue guns would work, but eventually some of the embellishments come off. The Dap really holds up fabulously.
