Modern Bohemian Summer Decorating For The Dining Room
My modern bohemian summer decorating ideas for the dining room inspired by the Caribbean!
Summer is around the corner and I’m ready to say hello to fresh summer colors around the house. We just came back from a week long cruise to the Caribbean and we are already missing the laid-back, relaxing vibes felt on the trip. Much of the island style revolved around plants and vibrant colors. You’ll see that our summer home refresh will involve many island style touches this year. Today, I’m sharing my modern bohemian summer decorating for the dining room as part of the Something Different Summer Home Tours blog hop. Be sure to visit all the blogs sharing their homes today and come back each day this week for more summer home inspiration! You can see all the blogs listed at the end of this post.
Modern Bohemian Summer Decorating
We are still enjoying the fruits of our very laborious first floor renovation. I just love seeing all the beautiful pops of color each morning I come downstairs. What better way to welcome summer than with some modern bohemian summer decorating in the dining room!
This room is the first room you see upon entering our home and you can’t miss it as you’re walking downstairs. So, I wanted to spice up the dining room with some island vibes! I used plants and touches of faux florals to adorn the room.
I just found some awesome tumblers on clearance at Target that reminded me of ocean water. They were only a little over a dollar a piece and perfect for summer entertaining. I added some sparkle to some candles very easily with glitter paint. This is a super easy way to update candles and add some metallic touches to the room.
Incorporate some of those global touches by using an hand-painted Indian box to hold utensils, candles, or napkins. If you have a painted box from a Caribbean island, this would be a good time to show them off too! You can also whip out those cute plates hiding in the cabinet and lay them stacked on the table. I skipped the traditional set table this time for an informal set up. I think it gives the space a more welcoming feeling especially for the summer where entertaining is to be breezy.
I’m ready for some summer entertaining now! Are you? Don’t forget to check out these other beautiful summer home tours today and pin this post to your summer decorating Pinterest board!
