Holiday Gift Wrapping Ideas with Plants and Sea Glass
It may be too early to talk gift wrapping, but today I’m sharing 3 holiday gift wrapping ideas with plants and sea glass so you’ll be ready with these ideas when you do sit down to wrap gifts. Wrapping gifts is something I find just as enjoyable as decorating the Christmas tree. Getting creative with gift toppers, wrapping paper, or even alternative gift wrap ideas is so fun to do. I’ve shared several gift wrapping ideas over the years for my Very Global Christmas series, but today is a special 3 FOR 1 post.
Be sure to check out Kathy’s (Up to Date Interiors) DIY gift wrapping idea today as well! Kathy and I have been two peas in a pod these past years as partners for this Christmas series. You can view her past globally inspired Christmas posts on her blog too!
DIY Botanical Gift Wrapping Ideas
Whether you have a large or tiny gift to wrap, these DIY botanical gift wrapping ideas are sure to be a crowd pleaser especially for those who love plants. Create them all or replicate your favorite this season. These DIY gift wrapping ideas with plants are also perfect for decorating around your botanical Christmas tree.
1 Our first wrapping idea starts by wrapping your gift with macrame rope. Use hot glue to secure the rope to the underside of the gift then wrap around several times. I continued wrapping the rope around 10 times, then crossed over the top to wrap a few times across the opposite side.
Weave in some faux botanical foliage and glue onto the macrame rope. Use as little or a lot of the foliage here. I decided this gift would have a bit of a coastal touch, so I hot glued starfish to the top. The starfish looks so beautiful with the leaves and macrame rope.
2 Our second botanical gift idea incorporates burlap ribbon. Start by wrapping then attaching the burlap ribbon to the gift with tape or hot glue. Wrap the macrame rope a couple of times on top of the burlap ribbon, then glue or tape the ends together on the underside of the gift.
Top the gift with a cute sea glass ornament that your gift recipient can use on their tree. It’s like a two for one present! I showed two varieties of DIY sea glass ornaments this week and either one would be perfect as a gift topper.
3 The last DIY botanical gift wrapping idea includes a pretty mosaic looking tag created with sea glass. Start by wrapping the macrame rope around the gift. Use hot glue or tape to secure in place.
Attach the mosaic sea glass gift tag to the gift with macrame rope. Add a few pieces of faux foliage to finish the gift. Want to make your own mosaic sea glass gift tags? Check out the simple tutorial below!
DIY Mosaic Sea Glass Gift Tag
Make the DIY mosaic gift tag by hot gluing pieces of the sea glass to an acrylic disc. Try out where each piece of sea glass will lay before gluing your pieces. You don’t want to be left with a large empty spot on your acylic disc! Use a gold permanent marker to wish your gift receiver a happy holiday on the back of the disc.
Now that you have all these great gift wrapping ideas with plants and sea glass, it’s time to get out there and create them for yourself.
