Global Style DIY Art With Beads
Special thanks to Woman Shops World for sponsoring this post! All favorable opinions about these awesome beads are 100% my own!
If you haven’t guess it, I love art! Regardless if it’s a do it yourself project or purchased piece of art, I love to adorn my walls with art work. I came across an intricate set of Indian handcrafted coin beads from Woman Shops World and I knew that I wanted to create art with them. If you haven’t created artwork before, definitely give it a go. Not only can you customize a piece in the size and color that fits your space, but it’s such a fun and stress-relieving activity. Incorporating authentic beads from around the world gives your projects a special touch. I definitely recommend shopping the bead selections from Woman Shops World. My DIY global style bead art is not only easy art to create, but will make a great impact in your home. Here is how to create your own DIY bead art!
What You Need:
- Beads (here are the ones I used)
- Shadow box
- Glue gun
- Printer paper or Cardstock
- Scissors
Remove the backing from your shadow box and use it as a template to cut your paper into the appropriate size for your shadow box. Then, play around with your beads to figure out a layout. You can’t do any wrong here. Whether you scatter the beads or have a more structured look, the layout of the beads is yours to decide. I wanted a more structured, eclectic look. My beads were laid out in a progressing step pattern from different angles with a few left out.
Before you start gluing your beads, take the mat frame from your shadow box and place onto your paper. This will highlight any issues you may have when you place the artwork back into the frame (beads too close to the edge, the mat frame not fitting around the artwork, etc.). Once you finalize your layout, simply use your glue gun to secure each bead in place. Place your new art back into the frame and enjoy!
