This year, I’m utilizing simple Christmas decorating ideas that pop! My global style Christmas decorating ideas for the living room are sure to add style and Christmas joy to your home.
We kicked off our annual Christmas series yesterday by revealing our Christmas trees for the year. The Christmas tree sharing day is one of my most favorite days of the series and I’m excited to reveal the rest of the space today for Day 2 (Room Tours). Be sure to check out Kathy’s global eclectic Christmas home tour with colorful DIYs today. You won’t want to miss those creative Christmas decorating ideas.
Hands down, the showstopper in our living room is the botanical Christmas tree. However, there are plenty of simple global bohemian style decorating ideas you can do to make your space a globehemian Christmas.
Hang Mismatched Winter Wreaths
When done seamlessly, Global bohemian decorating will have a collected look. Having mismatched decor that coordinates is a sure way to have a collected look. This Christmas, hang mismatched winter wreaths in your home either on the wall or from art. Use botanical print ribbon to hang wreaths from large frames. I scored both wreaths, the white berry wreath with bells and the large pinecone wreath from Target!
Use Vintage Brass Candleholders and colorful Candlesticks
Colorful candlesticks in vintage brass candleholders not only help set that warm, candlelight mood in your living room; but also show off your growing brass candleholder collection. Don’t have colorful candlesticks? Consider spray painting candleholders in fun, colorful paint instead.
Display Double Duty Vase Filler
Vase fillers that double as fun, family activities are a definite plus this holiday season. Cards, dice, and dominos make colorful vase fillers and easily visible for family night. I opted for a polka dot and floral bowl of gold bells which the kids have already begun to use as instruments for their sing-a-long. I hear them practicing Jingle Bells and Chi-Chi seems to have made herself the music director and conductor of their sibling duo!
Use Global Accents in Creative Ways
Finding new ways to use what I already own gives me such a rush! Global baskets can be used under the tree for decor and to hold gifts as you start bringing them to the tree. A Sari Christmas tree skirt can be folded and placed in an old basket, I repurposed a moses basket, to add color to a coffee table! Have fun and add a little whimsy with a Christmas elf.
Use those cute boho wall hangings like tassels, beads, macrame or fabric elephant hangings (like I did) as “stocking jewelry.” They not only make great garland, but also add pretty accents to your stockings. No need to replace stockings each year when you can add a bit of jewelry and make them look a little different.

I love these decorating tips especially the stocking jewelry and bells on the coffee table. I totally didn’t notice the wreaths weren’t matching until I read this!
I am in love with your Christmas vibe!
