Global Eclectic Home: Spring Tour 2016
Good morning and bienvenidos to Casa Watkins. Photographing and planning out a home tour is one of those fun and stressful events for me. Everything is cleaned, organized, and then photographed..if the kids’ allow. Just as spring is approaching with a renewed sense of wonder, so is my home and I was happy to be a part of Carrie from Lovely Etc.’s Hello Spring tour this year.
When you enter our home, you are greeted by my stenciled trellis wall completed the last one room challenge season. Fresh flowers are typically my go to decor along with some small thrifted treasures. FYI: At least one piece of blue and white porcelain is in every corner of my home! I love blue and white combinations and even more on chinoiserie ginger jars. Spot the blue and white as you browse my home!
See more of my green inspired entryway and how to create a deconstructed floral vignette here.
Walking to your left leads to the garage entryway where I have a small mudroom area for the kids’ belongings. No space is spared when decorating with spring colors. However, this spring I am really appreciating green plants. Whether real or faux, plants have become welcome addition this spring. Check out how I created my global, eclectic entryway and see the previous look here.
Our family room and kitchen are open to each other. The family room recently underwent a refresh for my New Year, New Room refresh challenge which you can see here. The room still has some areas to complete, specifically the cabinet, but we have really enjoyed this new look for the family room. My son was so into his cartoons that he was not going to let mommy snap a picture without him in it. So, this is the genuine look of our family room even with the couches pushed back for extra room when the kids chase each other.
The family room mantel is always undergoing changes. It’s one of my favorite areas to change up and is the focal of the room. You can pretty much tell how I’m feeling just by looking at our mantel for the week, haha. This week, I’d say I’m feeling pretty overjoyed. I recently made the DIY Aztec Wood Art and love how it balances the colorful artwork from Minted. See the tutorial for this art piece here.
Thank you so much for stopping by my casa! I hope you enjoyed your time here at Casa Watkins. I’d love to stay amigas so be sure to stay in touch with me.
