Get The Global Look: Pulling It All Together
Over the last few weeks I have shared how you can create global style in your home. Week one was all about selecting furniture pieces. Week two handled textiles and yesterday I shared all about global art. Today, is all about pulling all the components together to create a global style space. Getting the global look doesn’t require an entire overhaul of your home. As a matter of fact, I still haven’t incorporated all the pieces I would like. Take your time transforming your space into a room you can love.
Putting the final touches to a global style room can include those smaller pieces like vases, lamps, decorative accessories such as lamps, trays, and mirrors. One of my favorite elements to incorporate into a room are plants and flowers. Now getting myself to water the plants is a completely different story. If you have any tips to help me remember that, please drop a comment below about it.
I am a maximalist at heart. I love a full space and sometimes feel uncomfortable in spaces with the minimum decor. When pulling a space together, just go with what feels comfortable for you. Here are some globally inspired spaces to inspire you in your journey to create a global style home.

Now you’re ready to get your room/space together. I love to gather ideas for furniture, textiles, arts, etc in one place to see the overall look. A mood board is a good way to see how each element would work together without buying all the pieces at once. Here is a mood board I created for Chi-Chi’s big girl room, which is currently underway.
Homework Time!!!
I hope that you feel confident in creating your own global style home now. For this last week’s homework assignment, try transforming a space by moving or incorporating new to that space furniture (either moving furniture from another room or incorporating a new furniture piece), adding colorful textiles (pillows, rugs, blankets, etc), and global art. Try your hand at creating a mood board to kick off your transformation.
