Garage Entryway Makeover
Happy New Year
I am starting the year off feeling motivated to get the house in tip-top shape. Nugget and Chi-Chi attended a half day learning program today, which left me with about 2 hours to shop for my entry way makeover. I haven’t taken down Christmas decor yet, but when I do I will be posting house pictures. Pictures will be trickling in slowly.
First up, was the entryway next to the garage door. I don’t have a before picture, but the wall was completely empty apart from the white doorbell ringer.
I needed a place for the kids’ book bags (they were previously hanging from the knob of my kitchen pantry), a family calendar, and a place for keys. I picked up a great calendar from Target today (about $9 for this big size) and placed it within a frame I had purchased from Ikea about 4 years ago.
I bought some cute pencils from the dollar section of Target and put them in a small milk jug from the clearance section of Joann Fabrics. I also purchased the the faux boxwood topiary from their too. The clock was bought from Lowes for $10.
I found the great shelf/coat hanger at the thrift store for $8.00. Some good white chalk paint on it and it was ready to go. I’m already thinking that I may paint the back portion with some chalkboard paint and then I can write down the kids’ names or some reminders for school. I didn’t get too much time to look for other great finds at the thrift store today since I had Pink with me. Not all teenagers like shopping in Goodwill.
UPDATE: I wanted to bring in some more color and cohesion with the front entryway so I added some fabric to the center panel and gold dipped the knobs. I also added some green accessories that tie in to the front entryway table decor. Read more about the front entryway makeover.
