Early Fall Kitchen Decor
Well, it’s almost officially fall but it still feels like summer here. We are still rocking shorts and tanks! I refuse to let summer stay anymore in our home though. Today, I started my fall decorating and shared my early fall kitchen decor on my first Instagram TV post! Be sure to check out my fall kitchen decorating tour video and stay tuned for more fall ideas coming your way next Thursday! I invited some friends to share their homes as well, so be sure to check out all the fall home tours on Instagram.
When it comes to early fall decorating, I prefer to keep things pretty simple. Fall time is the epitome of coziness, so my aim is to make our home feel warm and welcoming this season. Here are a few tips and ideas to create those fall cozy feelings in your kitchen too!
How to decorate without pumpkins
Though I am a big fan of pumpkins, the early fall time is not a great time to score any. Instead, I used shades of that pumpkin orange throughout the kitchen. Our stools automatically create a warm autumn feel, but if you don’t have velvety orange stools you could always add a comfy orange hued pillow atop of your kitchen stools or chairs.
Cheap fall decor ideas
Glass bottles are one of my favorite go-to decor pieces. I shared more of my staple bohemian decor items in a previous post. I mixed orange hued glasses with some teal and black ones to create a lovely autumn glass collection. If you got-em, show them off! The majority of these glasses were thrifted, but you can find many of these beauties at World Market or Home Goods.
Bring touches of green by propagating plants on a high shelf! This isn’t necessarily fall themed, but it makes for a great shelfie! Add a little fall flair using a small bouquet of fall florals or orange hued florals.
If you haven’t had the time to shop for fall decor, or looking for easy fall decor ideas, head outside! Grab some maple leaf branches and plop them in a glass vase. Hopefully you have some that have started to turn those gorgeous autumn colors. I only had 1! One I say! All the others were still bright green outside so I gave my little 1 branch the best seat in the house….our kitchen island.
Another easy fall decor idea is to bring out your existing fall goblets, plates, and other autumn themed dishes and display them on a shelf or table. Create a stack of these beauties and top with a cute little chinoiserie tea light holder.
Add a little pop of seasonal decor like pheasant feathers to add interest to a grouping or collection. These pheasant feathers were a little expensive so instead of purchasing a big batch of them, I opted for just a little pop of fall. You can create the same effect using a bundle of dried berries too.
Would you say now that you can do simple styling for a cozy fall look in your kitchen? I would!
Quick fall decor ideas
Okay, let’s sum up some of those quick fall decor ideas.
Style a kitchen shelf, cabinet, or countertop with a nature element from outside. Use a outdoor fresh cut maple leaf branch, a bundle of berries (make sure you don’t eat any berries!!! or in reach of kids or pets), bare branches, or faux orange hued florals will do too!
Pull out your fall plates, bowls, or autumn colored glasses and style them on a shelf, counter, or buffet table.
Group a collection of glasses, chinoiserie, or your own diy painted vases and add a pop of fall to it using a small gathering of pheasant feathers.
