DIY Matisse Inspired Easter Egg Painting

Today, we are sharing Easter egg ideas and I have such a fun activity for you! It’s time to take an art break friends. Taking time each day to be creative brings me so much joy and peace. This DIY Matisse inspired Easter egg painting is just the thing to welcome spring with creativity. It was so fun to sit and relax for some art this week. Here is how I created this DIY Matisse Easter egg art and how you can too.

DIY Matisse Inspired Easter Art

Spring colors shine on this DIY Easter art. I’m so excited with the results and it was wonderful to have that peaceful time painting amongst all the crazy news of the Coronavirus. Let’s continue that peaceful, creative time and make some art friends!

1. Use a pencil to draw a large Easter egg.
2. Take a paintbrush and moisten your canvas lightly with some water.
3. Plan your color palette, then start by lightly painting the outside areas of the drawn Easter egg.
4. Lightly dab on your paints onto the Easter egg shape with a small brush.
5. Continue applying the various colors to your art and let dry.

Doesn’t this look so relaxing and fun?! Be sure to carve out some time this week to create your own diy spring art for Easter. It makes a great pop of color for some spring decorating. You can add a few to your mantel or shelf to create a spring vignette. This little Easter egg art is bringing a pop of color to my kitchen and I’m living for it!
