DIY Macrame Wall Organizer

Create your own DIY macrame wall organizer for your office or room!

Ever wanted to organize your office or room, but not feeling corkboards?  Corkboards and I go way back.  I used to place several of them on my college dorm wall to organize my assignments and schedule.  Now, I’m thinking of new ways to get myself organized.  I recently came across a set of copper wall knobs I had gifted my husband as a wedding anniversary gift.  Seeing that he NEVER used them, I thought I’d give them a go in my office.  (If you missed the office/craft room reveal, check it out here) Sure, it’s like re-gifting the wall knobs to myself, but better to use them than letting them collect dust in a closet.  It is super easy to create this diy macrame wall organizer with a set of knobs, a bit of macrame, and time.   Not only does it help you stay organized, but it also serves as an interesting wall piece.

DIY Macrame Wall Organizer

Start by planning out your desired wall look.  Decide if you prefer the macrame wall in a geometric shape or a scattered look.  Then, install the knobs to your wall using the package instructions.  You can get the faceted copper wall knobs I used for a modern chic look.  You’ll want to use those wall anchors in the package to install the wall knobs.  This will help whenever you have anything heavier to hang from your macrame wall.

Tie the macrame rope to one of the knobs then loop the macrame rope around each of the knobs making sure the macrame rope is tight.  The macrame rope should wrap around each of the knobs to create a nifty design.  When you’re at the end of the rope, tie a knot around the nearest knob to secure the entire macrame rope in place.

Use clothespins and clips to attach design elements, schedules, inspiration photos etc. to your diy macrame wall organizer.  Switch out your inspiration photos every season to inspire new creative home looks and projects!
