3 Ways to use Peel and Stick wallpaper for DIY gifts

The easy to use peel and stick paper makes it easy to apply to almost any surface to create a unique to you gift. Here are some DIY gift ideas I created using peel and stick wallpaper to make gift giving fun and easy this season.

1DIY Wallpapered Wooden Christmas trees: Christmas tree decor can make a wonderful gift idea for those who love home decor. Instead of giving simple tree shapes, dial up the pizzazz by covering your wooden trees with removable peel and stick wallpaper. For this idea, I used prec-cut tree shapes from a craft store. These came in a set of three, so it was easy to make a set to give and a set to keep just for me!

How to make DIY wallpapered wooden Christmas tree decor

  1. Trace each of the trees onto the back of your Spoonflower peel and stick wallpaper sample sheet. I used two globally inspired prints including a Peruvian tassel wallpaper and a Mexican serape blanket wallpaper! Be sure to double check the placement of the tree since the sample sheet does have a white edge you will not want to use.
  2. Cut out each tree shape and snip any fraying edges.
  3. Remove the wallpaper backing and apply the wallpaper to the wooden tree. Use the wallpaper smoother to remove any air bubbles as you apply the wallpaper.

  1. Trace the outside border and inside frame of the mat onto the back of your Spoonflower peel and stick wallpaper sample sheet. I used a gorgeous and bold tropical cheetah print. Be sure to double check the placement of the tree since the sample sheet does have a white edge you will not want to use.
  2. Cut out the tracing and snip any fraying edges. For the inside frame, snip the center of the frame carefully then cut straight to each corner of the frame. You should create a “X” at the center frame.
  3. Remove the wallpaper backing and apply onto the frame mat. Be careful not to let the inside frame portions to be caught underneath.
  4. Use the wallpaper smoother or gift card to smooth out any air bubbles as you apply the wallpaper.
  5. Flip the mat over and fold over each of the inside frame flaps. Be sure each flap is laying evenly to have a crisp edge around the inner frame.
  6. Insert completed mat into a frame with a photo or art.
