DIY Fall Boho Bicycle Wheel Wreath
Decorate for fall with a diy fall boho bicycle wheel wreath made with florals and dried gilded grapefruit!
It’s finally fall and the cool temperatures have finally begun! We had what felt like 13 days straight of rain this past weeks and so motivation to complete more fall projects was non-existent. Not to mention that I was sick for over a week with a cold. It’s one thing when your child is sick, but all home functions cease when you are the runner of all things home and you get sick. I have a laundry pile the size of Everest over here! So, I’m excited to be neglecting that pile of laundry and cleaning to share some fall wreaths with the ladies of The Global Styler today! DIY Fall Boho Bicycle Wheel Wreath
I have been obsessed with the diy gilded dry grapefruit slices I made a couple of weeks ago. They just have the perfect balance of warm fall colors with a pop of metallic from the gold leaf. Honestly, I think they can even be used well into the holiday season. How pretty would gilded dry grapefruit ornaments be on a bohemian Christmas tree? Anyway, I wanted to create a wreath with the dried grapefruit slices and when I saw this beautiful fall wheel wreath by Lolly Jane I knew I wanted to use a bicycle wheel.
I headed to Joann Fabrics to pick up my supplies and was drawn to the dusty rose and yellow color combination. As you can expect, I wanted to incorporate some greenery and found a couple bundles of Orchid flower leaves that were perfect for the job.
To start creating your wreath, you’ll need to gather up:
- Faux fall florals and greenery (Mine are from Joann Fabrics)
- Floral wire
- Bicycle wheel (also from Joann Fabrics)
- DIY gilded grapefruit slices ornaments
- Scissors
Start by laying out how you want your bicycle wheel wreath to look. This took some time for me, since I couldn’t decide if I wanted the dried grapefruit to hang from the side or bottom of the wheel. When you’ve decided on your layout, use cut pieces of the floral wire to secure your florals onto the bicycle wheel. I used the bakers twine from the gilded dried grapefruit to hang in place.
Hang your wreath proud ladies and gents, because you’ve got yourself a beautiful fall boho bicycle wheel wreath in just a few minutes! This wreath is great for adding a pop of fall in your home without the using too many warm fall colors. The yellow florals help balance the dusty rose color and the faded pinks of the dried grapefruit. Just look how it pops among the colorful artwork!
