DIY African Inspired PVC Pipe Napkin Rings
Create DIY African inspired napkin rings that double as candlestick holders!
It’s the fall and that means fun gatherings with family and friends! Copper elements always create a warmness to any tablescape. Don’t have any copper? Don’t fret, because there is a can of spray paint awaiting your name! I’ve transformed a few decor pieces over the years with a fresh coat of copper paint. Today, I’m sharing my DIY African inspired PVC pipe napkin rings which double as candlestick holders!
Bring a global element to the napkin rings easily by incorporating vibrant African inspired ribbon. Doesn’t this ribbon remind you of a beautiful African wax print?! PVC pipe can be cut down to size or use pvc pipe screw fittings to create a set for yourself.
WHAT YOU NEED
- PVC pipe screw fittings
- Your choice of ribbon
- Copper spray paint
- Permanent adhesive
The first thing you’ll want to do is to clean each of the screw fittings with soap and water. Then, spray each pvc piece with 2 coats of copper spray paint. Make sure to spray the inside of the ring as well! Copper is a great metallic to use in the fall and the warm copper color looks beautiful against white tableware. Once your pvc screw fittings are dry, use your permanent adhesive to apply the ribbon. I placed them on the screw portion of each fitting, but you can easily create a more graphic napkin ring by applying the ribbon to the opposite side.
Use your napkin rings with white napkins for a simple fall tablescape. Mix a collection of ribbon patterns to create a globally inspired tablescape. Use a few more to hold candles on your dining table or group a few to create diy fall mantel decor. A set of these napkin rings would make a great hostess gift too! I definitely wouldn’t mind receiving a set of these DIY African Inspired napkin rings.
