Colorful Global Boho Girl’s Room Reveal
Cue the Eye of the Tiger song, because I have finally finished my colorful, global boho girl’s room makeover! With three weeks taken off the room makeover process, I was working all the way up to the last minute yesterday transforming this space. Instead of the 6 weeks allotted for the One Room Makeover challenge hosted by Calling It Home, I have completed this room in about 2. I’m so proud that this room came together in time for Chi-Chi’s 4th birthday in a couple of weeks. Now, onto the room makeover reveal!
You have probably already seen my new jungalow style wallpaper from this post. The Hygge & West wallpaper provided by Wallpaper Boulevard looks amazing paired with the gorgeous pink Bungalow Rose rug from Wayfair and gold accents like the Better Homes and Garden sunburst mirror. I continued the gold touches throughout the room with a golden yellow ombre velvety throw from Better Homes and Garden, a popping pink sari pillow from World Market, and even made a DIY moroccan wedding blanket inspired pillow to finish off the bedding.
The letters on the wall were removed and replaced by a compilation of art from Minted, the Russian nesting doll art I made a few months ago, framed floral fabric, and a new original Otomi art piece I made using a stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils. I continued the golden yellow touches with a midcentury modern chair from Wayfair paired with another velvety throw in a deep purple and colorful diamond pillow both from Better Homes and Garden.
The dresser area needed some pizazz. So, the hardware was replaced with these acrylic knobs from Liberty hardware that coordinate with the new desk chair from Wayfair. Chi-Chi’s old changing table was upcycled into a desk (tutorial to come).
The addition of a magnet strip to the upcycled changing table desk helps Chi-Chi show off some of her art. I used the old knobs from the dresser to make colorful magnets for her new desk. Chi-Chi’s favorite books and faux succulents in a popping yellow You Are My Sunshine mug along with some new art supplies in the DIY Kate Spade inspired pencil holder complete her desk.
So what do you think?!!
I’m so excited to have this room completed. A very special thank you to my girl Mecca for helping me accessorize the room! A complete appreciation and thank you to the sponsors of the room. Stay tuned for the sources list for this space and how you can recreate the DIY projects featured in this colorful global boho girls room makeover!
