Colorful Christmas Decor for Kid Rooms
We are continuing to spread the Christmas cheer throughout the house and I’ve even begun adding a few touches of colorful Christmas decor into the kids’ rooms. They are super excited to see some Christmas decorations in their room for once, and I’m excited to see their happy faces. Not so much about the messy rooms, so I had to snap some pics around the mess!
Today, I’m joining a group of wonderful bloggers to share an assortment of ideas all about decorating kid spaces! Thank you to Chelsea of Two Twenty One and Chelsea of Making Home Base for organizing this fun collection of bloggers. Hello and welcome to everyone new and coming from T. Moore Home! Be sure to check out the rest of the ideas by clicking the participating links at the end of my post. Now, check out the colorful ways to add a bit of Christmas cheer to those kid spaces.
Colorful Christmas Ideas for Kid Bedrooms
1Mini Trees are a wonderful way to decorate kid spaces. They are just the right size for the little hands to decorate too! Include a fun way to countdown to Christmas like a mini ornament Advent tree.
2Twinkle Lights always add Christmas cheer to a space. Add them to the small trees, over the head of the bed, or around a stack of Christmas books to highlight a space.
3Swap out old lamps for colorful lamps to change up the room. I recently upgraded the lamps in both of the kids’ rooms and they are automatically bringing in pops of color to their spaces. Nugget’s Ovo lamp in Cinnamon spice ties in the orange color block wall mural in his room. We went bold for Chi-Chi’s room and used the apothecary lamp base in French Burgundy to match her rug. Check out the amazing lamps and assortment of color popping lamp bases and shades available at LampsPlus.
4Sprinkle in Christmas books to entice your young readers. I love to set out seasonal and holiday related books for the kids to find in their playroom. They set up their own little reading nook and enjoying reading their favorite Christmas books.
5Include Christmas decor that is interactive. Placing bells and instruments around their spaces not only serves as decor, but also as a fun play element. I added large bells to a small tree and placed extra bells on the dresser for Chi-Chi to play with.
6Incorporate toys into the fun decor! Reimagine toys as decor elements. I added a mini tree on the back of a Batman truck and Nugget immediately said the truck was bringing the tree to the village. What a great way to stimulate imaginative play!
