Casa Making : March 2020
A few years ago, I started sharing a seasonal magazine that included home making or “Casa Making” ideas for the season. Although I loved sharing this seasonal magazine with you, it was a demanding feature keep up with. I’ve been working on scheduling the same types of ideas and advice, but at a smaller level. My new CASA Making monthly series has been in the works since last year and I’m excited to finally kick off this series now that all my New Year New Room Refresh spaces have been completed!
CASA Making will give you monthly home and lifestyle tips, ideas, and guides to make the most of your month. Since our self is affected by our environment and vice versa, you’ll want to apply the monthly CASA Making theme to both yourself and home. You will get a printable checklist to help you keep track of your CASA Making progress too! This is our year to make our homes the way we want and the monthly CASA Making series will help you do it. My new book, New Year New Home drops this week too!!! Stay tuned for that! Now, let’s get into our March CASA Making.
March CASA Making
THEME: A Peaceful Start
Spring starts the beginning of blooms and color erupting from the frosted, colorless ground. Many are just now seeing signs of warmth and spring life this month. Take time to notice those colorful additions and the peace new life brings.
How to Add A Peaceful Start Daily
1Set your alarm early to take full advantage of those peaceful minutes before the rest of the household wakes up. 15 minutes of stretching, yoga, or meditation will kickoff your day with calm and peace.
2Self-reflect on where you are in life and where you want to be. Are you on that path? Taking small steps towards where you want to be is better than staying still. Plan out a few tasks to help you start the journey. Write these small steps on your CASA Making worksheet to keep track of your progress.
3Though the theme is a peaceful start, we mustn’t forget about the end of the day. Whether good or bad, reflecting on the day allows us to make necessary changes for tomorrow. Use your CASA Making worksheet to list things you want to do differently. Then, at the end of the month, evaluate those changes. Were they for the better? Did they bring you a level of peace and calm? If so, be sure to continue them into the next month.
How To Add A Peaceful Start At Home
1I think we can agree that the environment that surrounds us has a big impact on our mood and productivity. This month, use my printable spring cleaning checklist to create a fresh, peaceful home. Take on spaces one at a time rather than all at once to maintain balance and peace with your other priorities.
2Bring in fresh flowers as often as possible this month. Fresh spring flowers will cut through the coldness of the winter. Greenery, plants, or blooming branches are a great money saving alternative. See my tips on how to bring the outdoors in during Spring. Surrounding ourselves with new life is always a great way to find peace and calm in our homes. It helps beat those winter blues and creates welcoming vibes.
3Create spring hygge in your home by adding cozy vibes. Fresh candles in natural combinations will do wonders in the home. Look for candles that mix a fruit and floral/wood scent this month. I’m loving my Coconut and Driftwood scented candle! It’s the perfect balance of earthy woods and fruit.
Be sure to put all of these tips into practice this month to get the most of your March. Don’t forget to print out the handy Casa Making worksheet too! I’ll be sharing some video tips related to Casa Making this month as well. Join me on Facebook now to get access to those videos when they are posted or when I go LIVE! YAY!
I love this idea, Stephanie!
