You may have noticed by the title of my post, that I’m sharing just one of the two bedrooms I completed today. Not to worry friend, I have a week full of room reveals planned! I’ll be sharing Pink’s new Scandi glam bedroom later this week along with a refresh I did for our living room. It’s going to be exciting!
Remember that I decided to do a bedroom swap between Pink’s (20 years old) room and Nugget’s (8 years old) room. Here is what Nugget’s new room looked like before.
…….and here is what it looks like now!
The room looks completely different with the installation of Select Surfaces driftwood laminate flooring. The builder grade carpeting was atrocious and had to go! The driftwood finish warms the room that has cool colored wall paint. It was easy to install, but did take me a day completing the installation myself. More to come on that.
Speaking of walls, I brought in color to the white walled room by color blocking an accent wall. I just adore how these turned out and it made an awesome section for Nugget’s art on top of adding pops of color.
The paint colors were inspired by the Australian otomi print bedspread and matching otomi Euro shams from Spoonflower. I fell in love with this print and it paired beautifully with the ditsy tribal sheet set.
The industrial elements in the room work so much better than I thought it would. I partnered with The Home Depot for the new furniture pieces and lighting elements in the room. Bringing in those industrial metallic finishes in the new industrial desk and ladder bookshelf created a nice balance of hard and soft. Especially when this cute banker’s lamp is added too.
The metallic finishes didn’t stop there! I brought in some brushed silver in the new modern silver ceiling fan and curtain rod too! Though not a metallic sheen, the silver colored desk chair continued the color across the room.
Nugget is so happy with his new room and his face was priceless when I revealed it to him yesterday. He loved how soft his new rug was too. The Kenza rug by Mohawk Home was such a fabulous choice to pair with all the color on the wall and artwork I made for the room. The neutral color and minimal design is perfection with such bold walls.
I’m excited to show Pink what her room looks like next. Be sure to visit all the great rooms revealed today and tackle your own New Year, New Room Refresh with these wonderful sponsors.
