A DIY Golden Snitch Ornament You Can Actually Catch!

Every Harry Potter fan knows how elusive the golden snitch can be during a Quidditch game, but you can catch this one friends! This DIY Golden Snitch ornament is super easy to make and hang on your Harry Potter inspired Christmas Tree. DIY Golden Snitch Ornament
I have to admit that I didn’t want to whip out the camera to snap these steps, but they are soooo easy that you can follow the video tutorial just as easy. I posted the full video tutorial for these golden snitch ornaments on my Instagram and TikTok. I encourage you to watch the video should any of these instructions be a little confusing.

Materials for DIY Golden Snitch
- Matte gold ornaments (Mine are from At Home)
- Glue gun
- Gold Paint
- Paint brush
- Golden Snitch Wings (I bought these from Amazon)
Steps to Make a DIY Golden Snitch Ornament
- Remove the ornament cap for easier manipulation of the ornament
- Make two large circles along both sides of the ornaments with a glue gun
- Use the glue gun to make straight, or as straight as you can make them :/ inside each of the circles.
- After the glue is dry, apply paint to the ornament to cover the glue and a bit of the surrounding areas. It doesn’t have to be perfect, as this is to add dimension to the ornament and cover the clear glue.
- Once dry, add a dot of glue and the snitch wings to the top of the ornament right infront of the ornament cap.
- Replace ornament cap and hang on your tree!
I love how these DIY Golden Snitch ornaments add an extra Harry Potter element to the tree and that they were so easy to make!
