Ideas for Christmas Decorating With Plants

We’ve landed on day 9 of the Very Global Christmas series and I’m excited to share peeks of my Christmas decorating with plants today! I’ve had Christmas decorations include plants for several years now, but with each year that has passed the plant showcase has increased.

As a lover of plants, I’ve loved incorporating plants in different ways as well as for special occasions. Christmas decorating with plants is a unique way to incorporate your houseplants into seasonal home decorating. Here are the ways I’ve used faux houseplants to decorate our home for the holidays.

Using Houseplants on Christmas Tree

Kathy and I kicked off the A Very Global Christmas series with a Christmas tree share. I revealed my modern boho coastal tree adorned with DIY sea glass ornaments and a Pothos plant garland. The tree also gets an assortment of baskets and boxes to adorn the bottom of the tree.

Christmas Garland with Pothos Plants

The beautiful combination of the winter greenery and pothos on the Christmas tree inspired me to make a cascading mantel garland to match. Using two garlands of wintergreens and a few bushes of pothos plants, the mantel garland was super easy to create. The adorned mantel was so full that I kept the opposite side of the mantel pretty simple with candle sticks.

The green and white stockings are an old favorite. These stockings always coordinate with any Christmas decorations I do. The stitching pattern reminds me of a tribal like print.

Complimenting Botanical Decor

Coffee table swap happened again and I brought in the driftwood coffee table from the sunroom. Keeping the decor simple on the coffee table helped keep the focus on the mantel and Christmas tree. Simple styling continued throughout the living room .
