DIY Floral Antler Wall Mount: It’s So Ugly It’s Cool
Hola,
Every month Jess of Domicile 37 hosts a challenge to revamp what would be less attractive thrifted or junk pieces into more attractive home decor. This fun challenge, called It’s So Ugly It’s Cool, is open for all to play as well. Simply do a split screen of a piece you revamped and post to Instagram using the hashtag #ItsSoUglyItsCool. Today, I’m sharing how you can take mini glass syrup bottles and transform them into a DIY floral antler wall mount!
A very popular trend in home decor is to use faux mounted stag antlers as wall decor. Although beautiful as wall decor, stag antlers do not fit too much into my decor. So, I made an alternative version using syrup bottles, a wooden wall plaque, and my wood burner from Walnut Hollow. You can see 29 amazing Walnut Hollow wood projects from the Create and Share challenge here. This boho influenced version showcases flowers and plants.
Use your wood burner to design a background to your glass syrup vases. You can purchase the one I used for a fantastic price here. I burned vines, flowers, and leaves for my backdrop. The wood burner was very easy to use and even supplied 4 separate design tips. Apply your glass syrup vases using a strong adhesive. The vases should have a slight tilt to simulate the stag antlers.
Hang your finished plaque in a gallery wall or on it’s own. I hung this cutie in my daughter’s global boho inspired room. It’s definitely not near completion, butI will be sharing more of the room transformation following the dining room makeover. As a note, I encourage the use of faux plants or flowers within these vases. Once permanently applied, it will be difficult to change the water for live plants. Use great quality faux florals, dried flowers, feathers, or faux plant stems instead.
Thank you for stopping by my casa today! Have fun transforming those ugly pieces into beautiful home decor. Remember to pin the image below to your DIY wall art or Upcycling/Repurposing Pinterest board. Check out the other amazing It’s So Ugly It’s Cool projects shared by my friends too!

Such a cool DIY Stephanie !!
This is such a cool spin to the faux mounted antler stand, it certainly is a great alternative especially if you are not such a big fan of antlers. Pinning this!!
I love how creative this is and the wood burning is beautiful. Love how the wall came together!
Actually, It is not ugly.
And personally, I love the idea of flower adders instead of animal ones.
It’s a pretty & ingenious craft Steph. 🙂
ps. Love the detailed burn, especially how you shadowed the leaves!
How adorable! I love how simply & beautifully that little project came together!!!
Never would have thought of this but it looks perfect in your daughters room! Love how you took something traditionally masculine and made it feminine!
