How To Clean Brass Fast!
Hola!
I had a different topic to discuss today, but unfortunately I took much longer cleaning and organizing for the second part of my Spring home tour. If you haven’t seen the first part or entered the $400 paypal giveaway, be sure to check that post out here. I’m still finishing the refresh, but I wanted to pop in and share how I have cleaned my brass decor even faster! Last year I shared a great pineapple brass tray I scored at the thrift shop. It was in horrendous condition in terms of tarnish and was probably passed up by several shoppers. You can see the original post here.

Well, a few months ago I am shopping at Target and spotted an even better way to clean my brass! Bar Keepers Friend is available in a liquid now! Okay, perhaps I am a bit late sharing this information. However, it was one of those instances where the skies opened and shined a light right on that liquid Bar Keepers Friend. I have been using the powdered version for a while and though very effective, it is such a hassle to use quickly. You pour the powder on, wait at the least 5 minutes, then wash/scrub it off.
The liquid Bar Keepers Friend is so much easier to use and so much faster. I should mention that I am NOT getting paid to share this information. I was just so amazed that I was able to clean my brass decor so quickly. I slathered on a bit of the Bar Keepers Friend onto the brass tray with a paper towel. Each piece of brass decor was pretty tarnished so I used about a quarter sized amount for each area.
Apply it to another area of your item and return to the previous area to begin buffing off the Bar Keepers Friend. I just kept working around the entire item moving in circular motion to buff off the tarnish. It’s pretty similar to shining silver. Wash your decor items with water, pat dry, and style in under under 5 minutes!
I just love this brass pineapple tray! I’ll be showing where the cranes ended up next week during the second part of my Spring Home tour which will include the rest of the first floor. Do you have any quick cleaning tips to share? Let me know in the comments. If I can reduce my cleaning time, I want to know!
Thanks for stopping by my casa!
