Tassel Mason Jar Makeover
Kick off your spring cleaning with an organization diy! Create this easy tassel mason jar makeover in minutes!
There’s nothing like a quick project to get you motivated to organize. Spring cleaning is just around the corner and one of the ways you can organize your goodies is with this tassel mason jar makeover. Create one for your office or several to organize your kitchen counters. Use the jar without the lid as a vase or desk organizer!
For this project, you’ll need: a mason jar (or any old glass jar will do), some silky thread and macrame rope, scissors, and a hot glue gun. Start by gluing the end of your macrame rope to the bottom of the jar with a glue gun (1). Continue wrapping the rope and securing into place with glue. Stop every few wraps to add a colorful tassel. To make the tassel, loop the yarn around 3 fingers around 10 to 15 times (2).
Carefully slip the looped yarn off your fingers and place underneath a portion of your macrame rope (3). This creates a top and bottom section of the yarn with the macrame rope in the middle. Pull the upper yarn section through the bottom yarn section to secure the yarn to the rope (4). Snip the loop with the scissors to create the tassel and fix any thread pieces that are out of place (5). Continue to wrap the macrame rope stopping every few wraps to add another tassel (6). Cover as much or as little of the mason jar as desired.
It’s spring so grab those mason jars and give them a fresh tassel makeover! What would you use your tassel mason jar for?
These are darling! I always have a hard time with desk supplies that fit my style. This is such a great idea!
