Summer Entryway
How was your weekend? We had a very rainy weekend and didn’t get to do much outdoors. On the bright side, it was the perfect weather for indoor decorating! Last week, I posted a peak of my summer entryway on Instagram. It was well liked and so I want to share the entryway decor details.
A few weeks ago, I participated in a home tour blog hop with 9 other bloggers. It was my very first home tour hop and I was utlra nervous about sharing my home since I didn’t feel it was quite ready. Well, the entryway was skipped over since it wasn’t refreshed for the Summer. I must say that I am really happy with the look of the entryway now!
The entryway is probably the most important place I decorate. It’s the first impression of a home’s interior and should express you aesthetic. It has been quite a long process finding my decor style and this entryway has had many looks. I’m glad that I tried all of them since it finally gave me perspective into my own style. Take a look at the initial entryway makeover here, then visit my farmhouse cottage entryway, and modern Spring entryway to see this entryway’s journey.
The entryway has evolved into a mix of tropical, coastal, and cottage style. I wanted to incorporate more plants in my home and decided to buy a few faux and real plants to spruce up the casa. The greenery in the white and blue chinoiserie vase was snipped from a bush that tends to overgrow pretty fast. Horrible for my front door walkway, but a great source of greenery for the house. The touches of greenery add a cozy, welcoming feeling. I love it so much.
I love how the gold looks with the greenery. Green and gold is one of my favorite color combinations.
The bottom shelf was kept pretty simple. I used the same basket to house some of my favorite books. I also put our library books here as well. Helps to remember to return them, most of the time. My lily plant has been thriving since Easter. It’s so exciting to have a plant not die. Plants tend to do that a lot around here. Probably should have cleaned off the lily pollen from the leaves before I snapped the pictures.
Have you spruced up your entryway for the Summer yet? If you are looking for some additions to your entry way, try the thrift store. Though if you prefer not to spend a dime, do what I do. Shop your house!
Thanks for stopping by my casa!
