Spring has come and its still cold outside! Whatever the case, my entryway got a Spring refresh. I used items I already had around the house to keep it budget friendly as I’m still working on my dining room makeover. I was fabric shopping for my dining room chair makeover when I spotted an amazing watercolor floral print pillow. It somehow jumped right into my cart along with its twin. The colors are screaming Spring and its a perfect color palette for the entryway.
I wanted to use some vibrant colors mixed in with the soft pastel colors of the pillow. I had a mirror box that I found while cleaning last week. I actually have three of these mirror boxes, which are actually jewelry boxes. They were in the clearance section at Target back in December and I thought they would be nice gifts…..though they haven’t left my house yet. A bold fuchsia ribbon and this mirror box was perfect to add some elevation.
I used a few brass candlesticks and the
painted dollar store Easter eggs I made last week for some metallic accents. I needed a picture for the table and went on a scavenger hunt around the house for the best one. I used one of my favorite wedding pictures to personalize the entryway table. There should always be some sort of family picture when you walk into a house, in my opinion. I think it tells your guests who’s house it is and sets the mood of your home right from the front door.
I used the same basket that was already at the entryway to hold an ivory scarf and that fabulous pillow from Joann Fabrics. I also placed a brass vase I had stashed in my living room. I can’t get enough of gold and brass this season! Metallics are very hot right now and its so hard not to love them in every aspect.
Nugget couldn’t resist getting his picture taken.
I also wanted to give you some insight into my dining room makeover progress. I haven’t been able to work too much on the makeover since the kiddos have needed a lot of my attention this week. I did get the hubby to move some heavy furniture pieces for my this past weekend. We did a switcheroo and moved the corner cabinet from the dining room into the family room and moved the buffet table we were using as a tv stand into the dining room. I underestimated how many wires were connected to the tv and speakers. 🙁
The buffet is still yellow, but I am seriously considering painting it. I even bought the paint, but
I haven’t had the time to sit and paint yet. My dining room makeover is way past due, but I know I will be happy with the look once I am finished. I just need to get there.
Thanks so much for stopping by,
