Me Gusta Monday

Wow, what a busy weekend. We didn’t really get to celebrate the holiday since Nugget caught Strep throat. 🙁 If you really want a great time, try keeping a 3 year contagious boy away from his 2 year old playmate sister. What an ordeal! He is so much better now, though. Hooray!

It has been a while since I have a done a Me Gusta Monday post. If you are new to Casa Watkins, Me Gusta Monday (I like Mondays), is a time where I share inspirational photos and blogger posts that I have had a chance to see over the weekend. So lets take a look at some great stuff!

First up, is this gorgeous room shown in Serena and Lily. The green curtains are amazing. I have a very similar looking wall color and the couches in the living room are tan, but I feel I could pull off a vibrant green. Did you notice the white vase on the table with the two palm leaves? Palm fronds are on trend right now. I had to use some for my Summer entryway last week. Not to keep up with the trend, but simply because I love the bold statement these simply leaves make in any area.

Blogging has provided me the opportunity to meet other great bloggers and get inspiration from their homes. Back in May, I came across a stunning laundry room makeover. I loved the stenciled wall and the tropical feel of the room. I am so happy to finally meet the woman behind the makeover, Sharon from Pretty Practical Home. Check out her blog and creative projects.

Spool or Spindle chairs have been on my radar for a while. I have been in search of these chairs in almost every store. The only issue is that these awesome chairs cost way more than I can spare. That doesn’t mean that a girl can’t dream though. Check out how the spindle chair is used in this gorgeous room from Better Homes and Garden.

The spindle chairs can work in any decor style. A completely new looks can be achieved by simply changing the accent pillows. This spindle chair set is so bold and beautiful. The cheetah print pillows are not traditionally my style, but it looks wonderful in this room by Blue Stone Main. Ah oh, am I starting to like animal print accents??

I can’t forget to mention the fabulous ginger jar collection. LOVE IT! I adore ginger jars and even started a board on Pinterest just on decorating with ginger jars.

Last, but not least is this lamp shade from Ikea. I haven’t been to Ikea in a while, since it’s 25 minutes away. However, I would make the trip to pick up this cute lamp shade.
