Front Entryway Makeover
I finally finished the entryway. I am so happy with the results. It is not a drastic change, but I still feel that it is a great improvement from our post-fire entry way look.
I used decor items that I purchased from thrift stores, Target, and Joann fabrics. The rest of the items I already had on hand. They just needed a little paint and hardware update.
The entire makeover took less than a week to complete. Now, lets take a look at the details of this colorful makeover.
Here is the entryway before.
and here the same view after the makeover.
I love mixing patterns and colors. I have always loved the look of navy blue and green with gold accents. I could have definitely added more gold, but I decided to keep it toned down for the winter. My entryway was inspired by a green jewelry box I found for $7.00 at the thrift store. I LOVE this vintage box and was even happier to find that there was an even smaller box inside. It was pretty plain looking compared to the larger box, so I attached an old pin I had in my own jewelry box.
The table was painted with white chalk paint and then slightly distressed around the legs and corners. The table pull knob was spray painted with 18K gold spray paint. I think it picks up the gold accents from my new diy nautical mirror. I applied gold leaf randomly around the mirror to make it look a bit worn.
I decorated the table with a picture in a blue distressed frame from Micheals (Gift from my sister). The pitcher was in the clearance section at Target for about $10.00. I loved the first time I saw this pitcher. I used some brass candlesticks on top of a vintage jewelry box and filled the pitcher with some green faux hydrangeas. I can’t wait until Spring comes so I can pick up some fresh hydrangeas. I just love those flowers.
I also picked up the green houndstooth pattern pillow from Target as well (Clearance section for about $7.50). The basket is from Joann’s Fabric and was 50% and I swiped if for $12.00. The giraffe print scarf was a christmas gift from a few years back.
I thought I was all done until I uploaded this picture and noticed the hook for my door was missing a wreath. I took the Christmas decor down and haven’t placed any decor on the door.
Overall, the entry way looks so great that I’m comfortable moving on to the next space….my formal living room. Ill post some before pictures soon.
