Can you believe it is already August?! The back to school commercials have already begun and the school supplies are stocked in the stores. Each year brings these school supplies sales closer to July. I wouldn’t be surprised if the back to school sales start right after the last day of school in the near future!

We are winding down our summer home learning and the kids are finishing up their summer homework packs. We’ve taken so many trips to the library and they have truly enjoyed logging their books in the Circus themed reading log I shared with you weeks ago. Today, I’m sharing another reading log to finish up summer reading this month. The kids say they love the Pier themed reading log more, but I think it’s just because its a new picture to create.

The same principle applies for using the pier themed reading log as did the circus themed. The kids document their books by cutting out one of the fun pier themed pictures and pasting it to their scene page. Both of my kiddos have really loved being able to create their own unique scene. Nugget (6) is a fan of anything art related, so these cut and paste reading logs make reading so much more artful.

I’ve included a write in book log and book review page as well for those kiddos that are writing. Not only do they get to practice handwriting skills, but build reading comprehension skills as well.
