DIY Tropical Inspired Spice Jar Labels
If you have been wanting a reason to embark on the glass spice jar trend, look no further people! These DIY tropical inspired spice jar labels are the colorful spice jar labels you’ve been waiting for. I’ve loved the look of an organized and stylish spice drawer and rack, but creating labels for each spice was a task that I wasn’t too fond on doing and all the labels that come with jars are always so plain looking to me. So, I finally said…duh Steph, you can personalize them yourself!
I saw several spice jars showcased over on Instagram this week and it was eye-candy for us organizing fanatics. I ordered a set of 24 glass spice jars that came with labels this week and made them my own using Colorshot paint markers. Here is exactly how I did it and how you can too below.
DIY Tropical Spice Jar Labels
If you’d like a video tutorial, I’m sharing a REEL of the project over on Instagram too! To get started, I ordered this glass spice jar set and washed each of the jars in the dishwasher. While they were washing, I added a splash of color with the paint pens to each of the labels I needed.
I only used 3 of the paint markers and the green as well as the pink pens required two layers of paint. Be sure to wait until the paint is dry before placing another layer on top.
Once dry, I took a fine point marker pen to add a cute botanical leaf to each label. Have fun with this! Add flowers, plants, symbols, or whatever element that screams you to each label.
Add your spices to your jars and voila! A completely new look for your spices. I adore these spice jars now!
Note that if you are forgetful like me and would likely forget when spices are going to expire, add a small sticker to the bottom of each jar with the listed expiration date too (I show this part in my Instagram video). I was surprised to find that so many of my spices had expired.
Now all I need is a cute spice drawer organizer! Stay tuned for that! In the meantime, I’m looking at my pantry now…… So many containers that could use a cute label in there too!
